Don Banton
an ordained United Methodist
clergy, and Certified Nurse's Assistant, led an 11th Step Retreat for us last
year. This was his first experience and the response was very positive from
those who participated. Don has 17 years of continuous sobriety and practices
prayer and meditation daily.
Danielle Bartz, M.Div.
is a staff chaplain at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Waterville. Prior to
moving to Maine she trained in various hospitals in Missouri and Minnesota. She
is a member of the United Church of Christ and is on-track for ordination within
that denomination. Her passion is to be a visible reminder of God's love and
care for people in the midst of difficult experiences and good.
William Clark, SJ
is a central Maine native and
ordained member of the Society of Jesus. He teaches theology at the College of
the Holy Cross and holds advanced degrees from the Weston Jesuit School of
Theology. He has extensive retreat experience both in the U.S. and
internationally, and is also active in music ministry. Bill is the author of
the book, A Voice of Their Own: The Authority of the Local Parish, and a CD of
original music, entitled "And I Will Praise You".
Laina Clugston
is a Waldorf educator and counselor focused on working with parent education and
children birth to three. She is formerly from the Washington, DC area, where she
was active in school administration, consensus facilitation, and classroom
teaching for twenty years at Acorn Hill Waldorf Nursery and Kindergarten.
Currently she is offering programs for parents and Waldorf educators in
association with the Center for Courage & Renewal and The Center for Social
Sustainability. Laina Clugston and Jean Haley are facilitators, prepared by the
Center for Courage & Renewal, who lead retreats to "reconnect who we are with

Rev. Dr. Stephen Drane
was ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with a doctorate in
Adult Education. He had two retreats and several visits to Our Lady of
Gethsemani, Bardstown, Kentucky, where Merton lived and wrote.
Lisa A. Fagerstrom
is Minister of Program and
Administration at Harvard-Epworth UMC in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Ms.
Fagerstrom has a B.E. from Vanderbilt University and has pursued studies towards
an M.Div. at Andover Newton Theological School. She is discerning ways to
integrate her passion for and call to a more intentional ministry of spiritual
practices, recovery and spiritual life coaching. Ms. Fagerstrom has been
involved in the recovery community for over twenty years.
Karen Foley,
a semi-retired Unitarian Universalist minister, offers spiritual
direction/companionship and retreats, and writes. She has completed the Shalem
Institute programs in spiritual guidance and retreat and group leadership. Her
poetry and reflective writings have appeared in newspaper columns, the journal
of Spiritual Directors International, Sacred Journey, and several anthologies.
Jean Haley
has worked for 25 years as a public school counselor and served most recently at
a New Hampshire Episcopal Church for eight years as the minister to children,
families, and youth. She directs Professional Renewal Resources LLC in New
Hampshire where she facilitates retreats for teachers, families, and school

Elizabeth Keene
is the Vice President for Mission Effectiveness for St. Mary's Health System in
Lewiston, ME
Naomi Star Knights
has been a certified Anusara yoga instructor since 2000. She currently teaches
countless classes in the central Maine area. Her Anusara yoga practice
emphasizes a gentle fluid movement practiced from the heart. She uses the body
to exercise the mind, creating calmness and concentration that extends beyond
the body. She believes that wherever you are right now is fine. That is your
beginning.
Bill Lagerstrom
has 32 years in long term recovery, founder and staff member of Lazarus
Ministries who have been offering groups and retreats for almost 28 years in New
York and in Maine. He lives in the Bangor area and is heavily involved with
several coalitions promoting recovery. Alcohol addiction and its issues are his
primary focus.
Jeannine Levasseur, CSJ
holds an M.A. from St. Rose
College in Albany, N.Y., a Certificate of Biblical Studies, and a specialization
in prophets from the Center of Biblical Studies in San Paulo, Brazil. She holds
a certificate in spiritual direction and retreat ministry from the Center for
Religious Development in Cambridge, MA.
Michael Naylor, M.Ed, CCS, LADC
is an authorized Enneagram
Institute teacher from the Enneagram Institute in New York. He will be joining
the faculty of the Institute this year. He has spent twenty-six years as an
Addictions Therapist, teacher, and clinical supervisor and runs Men's spiritual
transformation and intimacy groups at the Health, Education and Training
Institute in Portland.
Kerri Oliver
has been an independent consultant with Creative Memories for eight years. In
2002, the co-founder of Creative Memories personally introduced, trained, and
inspired Kerri to teach the tradition of Faith Booking.
John Palumbo,
a former substance abuse and
mental health counselor, and Waldorf Early Childhood Educator, has eleven years
experience as a group facilitator. He completed Foundation Studies in
Anthroposophy from the Center for Anthroposophy. John has been Visioning in his
life for more than ten years and is an apprenticing shaman.
Barbara Smith
earned a master's in theology from St. John's University. She previously served
as Director of the Pastoral Service Department of the Roman Catholic Diocese of
Maine, where she was also Coordinator of Initiation and Director of the Office
of Catechetics. She is presently a member of the Board of Directors for Catholic
Charities of Maine.
Mary Southard, CSJ;
a Sister of St. Joseph, is
best known for her Creative work. Her paintings, and sculptures explore and
give expression to the human soul as we experience the beauty and longing, the
passion and mystery of our intimate and "radically amazing" Universe, our sacred
and beautiful Earth. Mary is also an experienced educator, retreat director and
spiritual companion whose delight is to be with others on "this great journey".
Art commissions and program work have taken her to many places in the US, Canada
and Europe and Australia. She lives and has her studio in La Grange Park, Il.

Elaine Theriault
lives in Somesville, Maine near Acadia National Park. Every season finds her
outside enjoying the wonders of God's creation and her hobby of photography. She
is one of the founders and facilitators of Sisters on Journey, a women's group
at Church of Our Father in Hulls Cove, Maine. She is active in lay Episcopal
ministry.
Sheri Vigue
is a passionate knitter, library volunteer and grant writer, past social worker,
and breast cancer survivor. Initially interested in knitting as creativity, she
soon discovered the meditative qualities within the fiber and needles. Now a
fervent practitioner of mindful/spiritual knitting, she invites knitters and
knitters-to-be to explore this age old craft and potential prayer form.
Paul Weiss
has directed The Whole Health Center in Bar Harbor since 1981. As a therapist,
his work incorporates mind/body health and awareness, emotional re-integration,
couples communication skills, and a Buddhist-based cognitive behavioral
therapy. He began his zen and tai chi training in the 1960s, and has studied in
India and in China.

and Marilyn
MacArthur
are founding members of the St. Peter's Writers Group, a group formed to write,
read and discuss topics that center on Catholic themes such as hope, grace,
prayer, etc. They have each submitted for publication or have been published in
a variety of publications.
